KATHMANDU, July 24: Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) on Wednesday declined by 27.32 points to close at 2,536.11 points.
The market that opened at 2,563.42 points initially reached the day’s high at 2,600.41 points in the first half an hour. The index then started to move downward after the investors started booking their profits out of the increased share prices in the past few days. The market hit the day’s low at 2,513.91 points when the last hour was left for the day’s trading. The market recovered around 23 points in the remaining period before it closed for the day.

The sensitive index that measures the performance of ‘A’ class companies decreased by 6.25 points. The daily turnover inclined to Rs 16.20 billion from Rs 14.11 billion on Tuesday.
Only two groups including finance and hotels and tourism added 33.81 points and 8.59 points, respectively. Of the 11 losers, trading lost the highest of 119.52 points.
Among individual companies, 46 were recorded as gainers whereas 194 were the losers.
Himalayan Reinsurance Limited had the largest turnover of its shares worth Rs 360.74 million. Chirkhwa Hydropower Limited lost the highest of 7.79 percent of its market value, while Bottlers Nepal (Terai) Limited was recorded as the topmost gainer.
