KATHMANDU, July 8: Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) on Monday slipped down 4.62 points to close at 2,136.35 points.
The secondary market opened at 2,140.97 points and increased to the day’s high at 2,149.19 points in the first 18 minutes. In the next one and a half hours, the index however plunged to the day’s low at 2,129.02 points. The market remained almost stable in the remaining trading hours before it closed for the day.

The sensitive index that measures the performance of ‘A’ class companies also decreased by 0.76 points. The daily turnover declined to Rs 4.56 billion from Rs 6.00 billion on Sunday.
Among three gainers - microfinance, finance and mutual funds - microfinance added the highest of 42.83 points. Out of the 10 losing groups, life insurance declined by the largest of 65.11 points.
Among individual companies, 95 were recorded as gainers whereas 141 were the losers.
NRN Infrastructure and Development Limited had the largest turnover of its shares worth Rs 287.08 million. Mailung Khola Jal Vidhyut Company Limited shed 8.39 percent of its market price and was recorded as the biggest loser. Samaj Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Limited gained the largest of 9.68 percent of its market value.
