KATHMANDU, May 9: A new faction led by Dr Mahendra Lawoti and Khagendra Makhim has split from the Janata Samajwadi Party-Nepal (JSP-Nepal).
They have opted to remain neutral, separate from the factions of Upendra Yadav and Ashok Rai.
Newly-formed JSP faction to uphold support for Dahal-led govt
This neutral stance includes leaders from Limbuwan who had previously joined JSP.
The new faction also comprises members who had left CPN-UML under Ashok Rai's leadership.
Leaders Khagendra Makhim and Lawati, along with Saru Singhak, supported an independent candidate in the recent Ilam by-election.
The split in JSP resulted in 12 parliamentary seats dividing, with seven members aligning with Ashok Rai and five supporting Upendra Yadav.
