NRB begins selling gold and silver coins for Tihar

KATHMANDU, Nov 5: Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) has started the sale of gold and silver coins targeting the Tihar festival. The Mint Division of the central bank has started the sale of gold and silver coins from Sunday.

KATHMANDU, Nov 5: Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) has started the sale of gold and silver coins targeting the Tihar festival. The Mint Division of the central bank has started the sale of gold and silver coins from Sunday.


NRB has introduced silver coins in 10 gram and 25 gram denominations. According to the central bank, gold coins are available in 10 grams, 5 grams and 2.5 grams.

According to the central bank, the price of a 10-gram silver coin is Rs 1,600 and that of a 25-gram coin is Rs 4,000. The 10 gram silver coin has images of Goddess Lakshmi, Ganesha, Gajalakshmi and cows.


According to the central bank, the cost of gold coins is Rs 102,368 for 10 grams, Rs 51,183 rupees for 5 grams and Rs 25,592 rupees for 2.5 grams. The price of gold is revised every day.
