KANCHANPUR, Oct 24: The Non-Resident Nepali Association has reached out to flood and landslide victims in Kanchanpur district with relief packages.
In the first phase, the NRNA will provide relief materials worth Rs 8 million to the victims at Bhimdatta Municipality-11, 12, and 13, said the NRNA relief program coordinator Manoj Gorkhali. The relief distribution starts today evening, he said.
Govt bars NGOs, individuals from distributing relief directly
The NRNA was heartbroken after seeking pictures depicting the despair of flood victims posted by former minister Ramesh Lekhak and decided to reach out to the victims, he said.
In the first phase, around 300 poor families victimized by flooding and landslides will get relief materials including tarpaulins, clothes, and food items, he said.
Local people's representatives and local administration will coordinate with the relief distribution.
