NRNA Thailand Chapter raises nearly Rs 1 million for flood victims

KATHMANDU, August 23: Non-Resident Nepali Association (NRNA), Thailand chapter has raised Rs 960,159 to extend its support to the flood-affected people in Nepal.

KATHMANDU, August 23: Non-Resident Nepali Association (NRNA), Thailand chapter has raised Rs 960,159 to extend its support to the flood-affected people in Nepal.


According to a press statement issued by NRNA Thailand, its president Assajita Awale and treasurer Kanchha Gurung handed over the amount to NRNA ICC member Khagendra Raj Dhakal, who is also the immediate past president of NRNA Thailand, to support the flood relief initiative of NRNA in Saptari district.

Dhakal said the amount has been immediately transferred to NRNA Flood Relief Funds in Kathmandu through Kasikorn Bank of Thailand.


According to NRNA Thailand Treasurer Kanchha Gurung, out of the total amount, Rs 730,079 has been transferred to NRNA Relief Fund for the relief package distribution and to conduct medical camps while the remaining Rs 230,079 has been deposited to NRNA Women Welfare Fund, which  will be used to distribute hygiene kits to women victims in Saptrai district.
