One dead in bus accident in Simara (Update)

KATHMANDU, Oct 29: A tragic incident unfolded in Simra, Bara, as a passenger bus accident claimed the life of one individual. The victim, a man aged between 30 to 35 years old, tragically lost his life in this unfortunate accident.

KATHMANDU, Oct 29: A tragic incident unfolded in Simra, Bara, as a passenger bus accident claimed the life of one individual. The victim, a man aged between 30 to 35 years old, tragically lost his life in this unfortunate accident.


The passengers, totaling 51 individuals, hailed from Nagwa village in Birgunj. They were on their way back home after a picnic at Jalbire Waterfall in Chitwan.

According to Bara's Chief District Officer, Navraj Sapkota, the accident occurred when the bus, carrying the returning picnic-goers from Eketol to Birgunj, collided with the Rastriya Banijya Bank building in Simra. Preliminary findings indicate that the bus was traveling at high speed, exceeding 100 kilometers per hour, leading to the loss of control and the subsequent collision.


Tragically, one individual, who had accompanied the group as a cook for their picnic, lost his life at the scene of the accident. The authorities are currently working to identify the individual.


Sapkota further reported that the accident resulted in injuries to 12 passengers on the bus, with some sustaining minor injuries. Notably, one of the injured individuals is in critical condition.


Two individuals have already been discharged from the hospital following treatment, while the remaining nine are currently receiving treatment at local hospitals.
