TAPLEJUNG, June 30: One Heart, a non-profit organization, has distributed health materials worth over Rs 1.2 million to the district hospital and health office including nine local governments in Taplejung district. One Heart is a donor agency which provides assistance and equipment to develop the capacity of health workers and promotes maternal health of women and new-born children.
As stated by Prakash Panta, a worker of One Heart office in Bardibas, Mahottari district, medical supplies worth over Rs 1.2 million have been distributed by the organization.
Equipment handed over to health posts
According to Bhupendra Soni, a representative of the organization, medical supplies worth Rs 138,853 were handed over to Phungling Municipality. Likewise, supplies worth Rs 88,302 were handed over to Maiwakhola Rural Municipality, Rs 79,425 to Pathibhara Yangwarak Rural municipality, Rs 82,253 to Sidingwa Rural Municipality, Rs 66,516 to Mikkwakhola Rural Municipality, Rs 90,656 to Aathrai Triveni Rural Municipality, and Rs 132,022 to Phaktanglung Rural Municipality.
Similarly, medical supplies worth Rs 123,368 were handed over to Sirijangha Rural Municipality, and supplies worth Rs 102,259 to Meringden Rural Municipality. Also medical supplies worth Rs 352,875 were distributed to Taplejung District Hospital and supplies worth Rs 3,221 were handed over to the health office in the district.
As informed by Surya Bhatta, executive director of One Heart, the distributed medical supplies include surgical masks, gloves, PPEs, reusable gowns, face shields, sanitizers, isolation kits, tissue papers, digital thermometers and paracetamol.
