KATHMANDU, Aug 9: One-way vehicular traffic along Prithivi Highway has come into operation after the broken road in Kantar of Byas Municipality-5 was repaired on Wednesday afternoon. The highway was completely blocked since 12:30 pm when the road was caved in.
According to the Spokesperson at the District Police Office, Tanahun, DSP Mohan Bahadur Khand, the highway was opened one-way at 4 pm. A four-meter section of the highway was completely washed away. After the repair of that section, it has been brought into one-way operation for the time being,” said Khand. “Attempts are being made to resume two-way operation of the vehicles.”
One-way traffic resumes on Prithvi Highway
Vehicles coming from Pokhara to Kathmandu had to stop at various locations as a result of road blockage. Vehicles coming from Pokhara and surrounding districts had to stop in the middle of the road for the passage of vehicles from Prithvi Highway.
