Pak embassy in collaboration with Hiranya Int'l Library launches a book on Nepal-Pakistan Buddhist Relations

KATHMANDU, April 29: The Embassy of Pakistan, in collaboration with the Hiranya International Library, organized the launching ceremony of a book titled "Nepal-Pakistan Buddhist Relations," authored by former Ambassador Mr. Hiranya Lal Shrestha. The book highlights Pakistan's Buddhist heritage.

KATHMANDU, April 29: The Embassy of Pakistan, in collaboration with the Hiranya International Library, organized the launching ceremony of a book titled "Nepal-Pakistan Buddhist Relations," authored by former Ambassador Mr. Hiranya Lal Shrestha. The book highlights Pakistan's Buddhist heritage.


Former Prime Minister Jhala Nath Khanal attended the event as the Chief Guest, while Ambassador-designate of Pakistan to Nepal Abrar H Hashmi was the Special Guest. Other prominent guests included former Vice Chancellor of Lumbini Buddhist University Prof. Dr Tri Ratna Manandhar, Bhikkuni Dr Dhamma Vijaya, co-founder of the Dhamma Moli Project; famous culture expert Dr Gopal Pokharel, and former minister Kirpal Shrestha, besides venerable monks and Buddhist scholars.

Addressing the function, former Prime Minister Khanal highlighted the significance of cultural heritage as an important facet of people-to-people contacts. He lauded the efforts of Shrestha and termed the Buddhist heritage as a joint legacy of both countries.


Also, addressing the function, Ambassador-designate Abrar H Hashmi appreciated the work by Shrestha. While highlighting the shared Buddhist legacy, he emphasized the significance of cultural and historical linkages as a permanent bond between Pakistan and Nepal.
