Parliamentary probe committee formed, Gorkha Media mentioned in mandate

KATHMANDU, May 28: A special parliamentary probe committee has been formed to investigate the misappropriation of cooperative funds.


A meeting of the task force held on Tuesday afternoon finalized the four-point Terms of Reference (TOR) of the parliamentary probe committee. The said TOR has been submitted to Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal.

Several key issues have been outlined in the TOR of the probe committee, focusing on the structural problems within the cooperative sector. The committee is tasked with studying problematic cooperatives and investigating those that have channeled funds to Gorkha Media Network Pvt Ltd. Additionally, the committee will examine the role of Gorkha Media officials in facilitating these embezzlement and misappropriation of cooperative funds.
