PM’s swearing-in ceremony delayed as NC fails to finalize names of ministers in Oli cabinet

KATHMANDU, July 14: The swearing-in ceremony for Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has been postponed due to failure of Nepali Congress (NC) to finalize the names of its ministers to join the government.

KATHMANDU, July 14: The swearing-in ceremony for Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has been postponed due to failure of Nepali Congress (NC) to finalize the names of its ministers to join the government. 


CPN-UML Chairman KP Sharma Oli, who was appointed the PM with the support of smaller parties including the NC, was scheduled to take the oath of office and secrecy at 11 AM today.

However, the swearing-in ceremony and the cabinet expansion have been delayed as the NC has not been able to determine the names of its ministers who will join the new government amid disputes within the party. 


So far, the UML, Janata Samajwadi, and Loktantrik Samajwadi parties have finalized the names of their ministers.
