BIRATNAGAR, Dec 18: Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal has said that the failure of the constitution amendment bill won’t hamper anything.

He added that nothing will be hampered if the House doesn’t endorse the bill despite voting by ruling Nepali Congress (NC) and CPN (Maoist Center).

“If the bill fails despite voting by NC and CPN (Maoist) lawmakers, let it happen,” he said, “No one should obstruct the bill entering into the House business.”

He accused the CPN-UML of showing non-democratic behaviors by obstructing parliament.

The Prime Minister, however, claimed that it was unlikely that the bill will fail as ‘the United Democratic Madhesi Front (UDMF) has supported the bill and Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) has assured of backing the bill after some revisions’.

“The fundamental of the amendment bill won’t be changed,” he said, “However, some revisions can be made on provisions of languages of official business and Federal Commission. There won’t be any changes in the demarcation of the provinces as provisioned by the bill.”
