Police, Army enters men's league volleyball final

KATHMANDU, April 16: The men's final of the ongoing RBB NVA National Women's and Men's Club League Volleyball is set to be an all-departmental affair after Tribhuvan Army Club fixed the summit clash against Nepal Police Club scheduled for Monday.

KATHMANDU, April 16: The men's final of the ongoing RBB NVA National Women's and Men's Club League Volleyball is set to be an all-departmental affair after Tribhuvan Army Club fixed the summit clash against Nepal Police Club scheduled for Monday.


Army finished the league round in the second position to enter the final defeating Help Nepal Sports Club on Sunday. Police has already advanced to the final as league topper with 19 points from seven matches. Army accumulated a point less than Police playing equal number of matches.

In the match played at Dasharath stadium's covered hall, Tripureshwar, runner-up of the last edition Army registered a 25-23, 19-25, 25-21, 20-25, 17-15 win over defending champion Help Nepal. 


Meanwhile, the women's final of the tournament will see the battle of Armed Police Force (APF) and New Diamond Academy on Monday. 



APF defeated New Diamond by 3-1 in the last league round match on Sunday and extended its points tally to 15 from five matches to book its place in the final as league topper. 



Despite the defeat, New Diamond advanced to the summit clash finishing the league round in second position. New Diamond accumulated 12 points from five matches. Now the final clash will be held at Dasharath stadium's covered hall on Monday. 



Meanwhile, the champions of both categories will be awarded with Rs 200,000 each while the runner-ups will be given Rs 100,000 each. Similarly the third and fourth placed teams in both categories will be rewarded with Rs 50,000 and 25,000 respectively.
