KATHMANDU, Jan 28: Departmental team Nepal Police Club has registered two straight wins in the ongoing 14th Dhorpatan Women’s Double League Volleyball Tournament on Sunday.


In the first match, Police defeated Western Regional Sports Development Committee 24-26, 25-12, 25-20, 25-12, while it saw off Chitwan Tigress on straight sets of 25-10, 25-12, 25-18 in the second game. Police has had a stunning double league campaign as it is at the top of the table with 21 points from seven games. In the other match played on the day between two departmental teams, APF saw off Tribhuvan Army Club on straight sets of 25-19, 25-11, 25-18.

Playing one game less than Police, APF is second with 18 points from six games. Army is third with 15 points from seven matches. Samakhusi English Boarding (SEB) School has 11 points from eight games, while Western Region has 10 points from five matches. Shree Gaun Sports Development Committee has nine points from seven matches.


Also, Tigress defeated the host Dhorpatan Sports Club on straight sets of 25-15, 25-7, 25-12 to register seven points from as many games. Thaha Municipality and the host Dhorpatan has crashed out from the first round as the former has three points and the latter zero.
