Police off to winning start in league volleyball

KATHMANDU, April 11: Nepal Police Club made a winning start to the Third RBB NVA National Women’s and Men’s Club League Volleyball as it registered wins in both women’s and men’s categories on Tuesday.

KATHMANDU, April 11: Nepal Police Club made a winning start to the Third RBB NVA National Women’s and Men’s Club League Volleyball as it registered wins in both women’s and men’s categories on Tuesday. 


Police defeated departmental rivals Tribhuvan Army Club and Armed Police Force (APF) in the women’s and men’s categories 3-0 and 3-2 respectively. 


In the inauguration match played at the Dasharath Stadium’s covered hall, Tripureshwar, Police overcame Army 25-21, 34-32, 25-17 to gather full three points in the women’s category. Similarly, it defeated APF 25-17, 25-16, 23-25, 21-25, 16-14 in the men’s category.

Similarly in other match of the women’s category, APF registered 25-7, 25-7, 25-4 win over Jawalakhel Volleyball Training Center.  


Meanwhile, Dhorpatan Sports Club played two matches in men’s category and lost both matches in straight sets. In the first match, it was beaten 25-11, 25-10, 25-17 by Army while in the second match Help Nepal Sports Club defeated it 25-12, 28-18, 25-18. 


NVA National Women’s and Men’s Club League Volleyball features altogether six teams in women’s category and eight in men’s category. 


Three departmental teams including Army, Police and APF alongside New Diamond Club, Western Tops and Jawalakhel Volleyball Training Center are competing in the women’s category. 


Similarly, teams from departmental sides, Help Nepal Sports Club, Western Region Volleyball Association, Dhorpatan Sports Club, Jawalakhel Volleyball Training Center and Manimukunda Volleyball Club are the teams taking part in the men’s category.
