KATHMANDU, May 25: President Bidya Devi Bhandari has unveiled the government's policies and programs of the Fiscal Year 2017/18 at the Legislature-Parliament meeting on Thursday.
Presenting the policies and programs in the parliament, President Bhandari said that the government will ensure good governance to the service seekers based on the zero tolerance policy on corruption.
Bhandari said that the government will give continuity to the construction of international airports and fast-track projects in a bid to uplift the country economically.

In a brief presentation, Bhandari said community schools will be transformed into a model school to ensure quality education, while policies will be adopted to treat health service as the fundamental right of the people.
Similarly, she unveiled that the government will promote religious tourism and upgrade Tribhuvan International Airport to boost the country's economy.
National Civil Service Policy will be formulated to provide prompt and quality service to the people, Bhandari said in her policies and programs.
Women participation will be encouraged to mitigate women violence and ensure gender equality while foreign policies will be reformed as per the changed context so as to strengthen bilateral ties, thereby reaping benefits from the emerging power nations, said Bhandari.
The government will prioritize the sustainable development, economic growth and hydropower development, stressed the policies and programs.
The policies and programs also stressed the promotion of ethnic languages, job opportunities for youths and drinking water projects in the local units, among others.
