GORKHA, July 4: A male patient, who was undergoing treatment at the Gorkha Hospital, has succumbed to novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19).
The 44-year-old male from Palungtar Municipality-7 in the district passed away at 5 am on Saturday, according to Medical Superintendent of the Gorkha Hospital, Dr Nabin Thapa. The patient is said to be suffering from diabetes since a few years ago.

The deceased had been staying at a quarantine facility set up at Jiwan Jyoti Secondary School in Palungtar after he arrived in Nepal from a Gulf nation of Qatar on June 30.
After he was tested positive for the COVID-19 on Friday evening, he was taken to the district hospital for further treatment.
Meanwhile, Palungtar Municipality urged locals not to panic as no other cases of COVID-19 infection have been reported at the quarantine facility where the deceased stayed.
With this death, the total number of people dying of COVID-19 in Nepal has climbed to 33.
