Rape-accused Mukhiya who escaped police a week ago back in custody

JANAKPURDHAM, March 1: A prisoner who escaped after jumping off a police van in Dhanusha has been arrested. Rajababu Mukhiya, a permanent resident of Sabala municipality-13 Kiratpur, who escaped after jumping off the police van of Area Police Office, Sabaila, while being taken to police station was arrested.

JANAKPURDHAM, March 1: A prisoner who escaped after jumping off a police van in Dhanusha has been arrested. Rajababu Mukhiya, a permanent resident of Sabala municipality-13 Kiratpur, who escaped after jumping off the police van of Area Police Office, Sabaila, while being taken to police station was arrested.


Spokesperson at District Police Office, Dhanusha, DSP Bed Prasad Gautam said that a joint team of the provincial police office and the district police office arrested him while he was hiding in the border area.

Mukhiya had escaped while being transported to the police station after receiving judicial remand from the District Court in Dhanusha, where he was being held on charges of rape. 


Following the incident, police had launched a search for him, and he was finally found hiding in the border area. Mukhiya, who is 28 years old and a permanent resident of Sabala municipality-13 Kiratpur, is now back in custody. 


This incident follows the earlier escape of six prisoners who broke the custody cell of Sakhuwa Mahendranagar Area Police Office, with four of them already apprehended and two still at large.
