KHOTANG, June 25: The District Education Coordination Unit (DECU), Khotang, has restarted the enrollment campaign to bring children, who were left out in the first campaign, to school.
1,595 students still out of school in Siraha
There are many children who have been deprived of education due to various reasons, including social and financial constrains. So, DECU will once again visit the parents of those children and try to convince them to send their children to school. This campaign was first conducted by the unit for whole one month starting from mid-April to mid-May. But still, it didn't prove to be much effective. Thakur Prasad Dahal, chief of DECU, informed that this campaign will be conducted till September 11 until all children are admitted to school. "We hope no children will be left out from school," said Dahal.
According to Dahal, more than 50 eligible children are out of school. This time, DECU will conduct door-to-door visits, interaction with parents and awareness programs as part of the campaign. Currently, DECU is busy formulating drafts of programs that will be conducted in the second enrollment campaign. After the admission, students will be handed over with new course books, informed Dahal.
