Red Cross Society of China provides USD 50,000 to storm victims of Bara, Parsa

KATHMANDU, April 7: The Red Cross Society of China has provided USD 50,000 to those affected by the recent storm in Bara and Parsa districts.


On behalf of Red Cross Society of China, Chinese Ambassador to Nepal Hou Yanqi handed over the amount to Prime Minister K. P. Sharma Oli on Saturday, Chinese Embassy in Kathmandu stated in a press statement on Sunday.

During her meeting with the prime minister, Ambassador Hou said China and Nepal are friends in deed and friends in need. "Chinese side pays close attention to the disaster. The Chinese people share the same feeling with the Nepali people," the statement said. The ambassador extended condolences to all the deceased while expressing sympathies to families of those injured.


"The Chinese people will firmly stand by the Nepali people and would also like to provide assistance to the post-disaster reconstruction within capacity, cooperate in disaster prevention and reduction with the Nepali side," the embassy quoted the ambassador as saying.
