Renu Dahal leading with 51,666 votes in Bharatpur metropolis

CHITWAN, May 24: CPN (Maoist Center) mayoral candidate Renu Dahal is leading in the current vote counting in Chitwan's Bharatpur Metropolitan City.

CHITWAN, May 24: CPN (Maoist Center) mayoral candidate Renu Dahal is leading in the current vote counting in Chitwan's Bharatpur Metropolitan City.


A total of 126,957 votes have been counted so far. Of them, the ruling alliance candidate Dahal has secured 51,666 votes.

UML mayoral candidate Bijay Subedi is trailing behind Dahal with 39,343 votes. Similarly, NC rebel candidate Jagannath Poudel, who has given independent candidature, has received 14,741 votes.


Similarly, Chitrasen Adhikari of Nepali Congress (NC) is leading his rival candidate for the post of deputy mayor as the vote counting is currently underway. Adhikari has received 52,421 votes so far, while Himala Gurung of RPP got 30,477 votes. 


A total of 127,918 votes were cast in the local election held in Bharatpur metropolis on May 13.
