RJPN to protest govt decision to hold 2nd round of local polls

KATHMANDU, June 16: Rastriya Janata Party Nepal (RJPN) has said that it would not take part in the second round of elections scheduled for June 28.

KATHMANDU, June 16: Rastriya Janata Party Nepal (RJPN) has said that it would not take part in the second round of elections scheduled for June 28.


Issuing a press release on Friday, agitating RJPN said that it will continue its protests as the government decided to hold second round of local level elections against the agreement reached with the RJPN and Federal Alliance.

Unveiling the protest programs, RJPN said it would stage stick rally in all the district headquarters of Madhes-Tharuhat region on June 17 and general strike on June 18.


RJPN, which is unhappy with the constitution, has been staging demonstration demanding amendment to the constitution.
