Rs 20 million invested in incense stick factory in Kailali

TIKAPUR, Dec 19: Acharya Multi Business (AMB) Group Pvt Ltd has opened a factory to produce incense sticks in Tikapur of Kailali with an investment of Rs 20 million.


Prem Acharya, the promoter of the factory, claimed that the plant is the first in the area to produce incense sticks. "Other factories simply brand incense sticks produced in India and send them to market," he added.

The plant has been producing incense sticks with the brand name of Godavari. It sources raw materials from Indian cities of Kanpur and Lucknow. 


“Incense sticks produced by us are retailing in the market for Rs 10 to Rs 100 per pack," he said, adding that his product was reaching to markets in Karnali and Sudurpashchim provinces.


The company is targeting to produce 700,000 to one million sticks per day, according to Acharya. It currently employs 30 people. "We will hire another 20 once the plant is ready to start full-fledged operation," he added. Acharya added that the company was giving priority to local women when it comes to hiring.


"We are importing raw materials from India now. My long-term vision is to use raw materials produced within the country," added Acharya.
