KATHMANDU, March 31: The second round of negotiations between the government and Loan Sharking Victims Struggle Committee (LSVSC) has begun.
The talks that started on Thursday are continuing today. After the first round of talks failed to make any headway, the talks between the government and the victim side have been continuing in the home ministry since this morning. Joint Secretary at the Ministry of Home Affairs Rudradevi Sharma and the coordinator of the Struggle Committee Manoj Kumar Paswan are present in the talks.

In Thursday's talks, the Struggle Committee submitted a nine-point demand to the government negotiation team. It is said that it will be discussed today. The government formed a committee on March 27 to negotiate with the protesting loan shark victims who came to Kathmandu on foot from Mahottari.
Loan Shark Struggle Committee has presented various demands including scrapping Tamsuk system, making law in favor of loan sharking victims, formulating law by searching for the source of property after registration of transaction case by cheque or Tamsuk, introducing a system to return illegal property of moneylenders to the name of the persons who originally owned the property or those who claim to have been cheated. The Struggle Committee has also demanded the government to make legal arrangements to return the property to his/her name.
Other demands put forth by the agitating loan sharking victims include arrangement of the registration of cases of fraud and breach of trust against moneylenders in an easy manner, execution of cases only after the completion of the mentioned process in the case of arrest warrants from the court, postponement of the cases filed in the court on the basis of Tamsuk, arrangement for easy and simple loans from banks for foreign employment.
The struggle committee has warned that the movement will continue until the government guarantees simple and easy loans from banks to those who want to go abroad for work and forms an all-powerful commission to address their demands.
