Seventh National Fine Art Exhibition: Widening scope of arts

The Seventh National Fine Art Exhibition organized by Nepal Academy of Fine Arts has been shown from June 19 – July 3 at Nepal Art Council, Babarmahal.

The Seventh National Fine Art Exhibition organized by Nepal Academy of Fine Arts has been shown from June 19 – July 3 at Nepal Art Council, Babarmahal.


The opening ceremony was inaugurated by Deputy Prime minister and Education Minister, Gopal Man Shrestha where altogether 31 artists from different categories, an art writer and a media person were awarded cash prizes and certificate. Two artists were awarded ‘Araniko Rastria Lalitkala Pragya Samman’ with Rs 1,00,000 cash prize. Similarly, seven artists were awarded ‘National Fine arts Award’ with Rs 60,000 cash prize while 17 artists were awarded ‘Especial Award’ with cash prize Rs 25,000 including an writer and a media person.

Altogether 458 works of art of 426 artists are placed on the exhibition. The exhibition features variety of artworks in terms of medium where one is able to witness digital art, visual art, poster, mixed media, cartoon, installation, and sculpture are put to public display.


In the exhibition, there are 45 artworks from Province 1, 49 from Province 2, 273 from Province 3, 37 from Province 4, 26 from Province 5, 4 from Province 6 and 4 from Province 7 have been shown in the exhibition. “More than 700 people have visited the exhibition and we have been receiving positive feedbacks from the people”, says convener of exhibition display committee, Narad Mani Hartamchhali Kalang.


Crafted with artist’s vision and skillful hands, the artworks portray the eccentricity of human mind through the blend of multiple colors. The large number of artworks simply exudes the magnificence of life, culture, religion, spirituality and reflections of contemporary society giving an assurance to the widening scope of arts in Nepal.
