KATHMANDU, June 11: President of the Federation of Contractors’ Association of Nepal (FCAN) Sharad Kumar Gauchan has been elected as the vice-president of International Federation of Asian and Western Pacific Contractors’ Association (IFAWPCA).
Gauchan was elected unanimously as the vice-president at the 43rd IFAWPCA Convention held recently in Seoul, Korea.

Upon his election, Gauchan committed to relentlessly work towards building the association stronger. He said the FCAN as a whole was honored to have such representation in the IFAWPCA. Along with him, Vice-President (Associate) of the FCAN Nicholas Pandey was also elected as member of executive committee of the IFAWPCA. The duo’s tenure will end in November, 2018.
A team of contractors lead by Gauchan had participated in the 43rd IFAWPCA Convention - Seoul 2017.
The IFAWPCA was established in 1956 in order to promote international fellowship and cooperation among contractors in Asian and Western Pacific countries. Currently, contractors of as many as 18 countries are involved with the IFAWPCA.
