Snowfall along with rain likely in various high-altitude areas today

KATHMANDU, March 12: Various high-altitude areas across the country are likely to experience snowfall alongside rainfall today. 


According to the Meteorological Forecasting Division (MFD) under the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology, the weather in Nepal is currently experiencing a partial influence of the westerly low-pressure system.

According to the meteorological bulletin issued by the MFD earlier at 6AM, the weather is partly cloudy in the hilly areas of the country and the rest of the area is mainly clear.


The weather will remain mostly clear in the hilly areas of the country throughout the afternoon, while the remaining areas will be partly cloudy. There is a possibility of light rain at one or two places in the hilly areas of Sudurpaschim and Karnali provinces. There is a chance of light snowfall at one or two places in the high hilly and mountainous areas of the country.


The weather is forecast to remain mostly clear in the hilly parts of the country, while the remaining parts will be partly cloudy tonight. Light snowfall is expected at one or two places in the high hills and mountainous areas of Koshi, Gandaki and Karnali provinces.
