KATHMANDU, July 24: An aircraft belonging to Saurya Airlines has met with an accident at Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu. Eyewitnesses reported that the aircraft crashed while attempting to take off from TIA at around 11 AM on Wednesday.
According to TIA officials, the Saurya Airlines plane met with an accident while attempting to take off at Tribhuvan Airport. There were a total of 19 people on board, including the crew members, on the aircraft bound for Pokhara from Kathmandu.

A fire has broken out at the airport, with smoke rising from the incident site. Security personnel and airport firefighters are currently working to extinguish the fire.
Security personnel are currently working on the search and rescue efforts. Eyewitnesses said Captain Manish Shakya, 37, has been rescued from the crash site. He has been admitted to the Kathmandu Medical College for treatment.
