KATHMANDU, Aug 30: A discussion between Speaker Devraj Ghimire and the chairpersons of the parliamentary committees has started. On Wednesday, the discussion started with Speaker Ghimire and the chairpersons of the newly elected parliamentary committees at Singha Durbar. In the meeting, the bills pending in the committees and the working of the committees are said to be discussed.
On 28 August, the chairpersons of the 10 thematic committees of the House of Representatives were unanimously elected. Among them, Rishikesh Pokharel of CPN-UML is the chairman of the Public Accounts Committee, Bhanubhakta Joshi of CPN (Unified Socialist) is the chairman of the Education, Health and Information Technology Committee, and Deepak Bahadur Singh of the Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) is the chairman of the Infrastructure Development Committee. Likewise, Santosh Chalise of the Nepali Congress is the chairman of the Finance Committee, Ramhari Khatiwada of the Nepali Congress is the chairman of the State Affairs and Good Governance Committee, Dr Arzu Rana Deuba of the Nepali Congress is the chairperson of the Agriculture Cooperative and Natural Resources Committee and Abdul Khan of the Janamat Party is the chairman of the Industry and Commerce and Labor and Consumer Interest Committee.

Similarly, Rajkishore Yadav of Janata Samajwadi Party (JSP) is the chairman of International Relations and Tourism Committee, Bimala Subedi of CPN (Maoist Center) is the chairperson of the Law, Justice and Human Rights Committee, and Kiran Kumar Sah of UML is in the Women and Social Affairs Committee. Chairman of the Education, Health and Information Technology Committee of CPN (Unified Socialist) Bhanubhakta Joshi and chairman of the International Relations and Tourism Committee Rajkishore Yadav of JSP were not present in the Speaker's discussion with the Chairman.
