KATHMANDU, Feb 2: Senior Superintendent of Police Saurabh Rana, who was suspended on the charge of sexual misconduct, surrendered to police on Sunday.
Rana surrendered to District Police Office Sunsari on Sunday afternoon. Chief of Sunsari Police Yagyabinod Pokharel confirmed that Rana surrendered to the police station.
Earlier on Thursday, the Ministry of Home Affairs (MoHA) had suspended SSP Rana after a Dharan-based woman accused him of sexual misconduct.

A woman from Dharan had accused Rana of sexually abusing her. Rana had been working at the Federal Police Unit in Dharan for the past three years.
MoHA spokesperson Kedarnath Sharma told Republica Online that the Nepal Police Headquarters has already been instructed to carry out a fair investigation into the case.
The victim recently met Home Minister Ram Bahadur Thapa and Home Secretary Prem Kumar Rai and complained that she was sexually abused by Rana in November.
Shortly after being suspended, SSP Rana had denied the allegations against him.
