KATHMANDU, Dec 9: The student unions close to the opposition parties have announced further agitation program against the constitution amendment bill.

The students held a press conference at the Youth Association Nepal office today to announce protest program from Friday to Monday.

All Nepal National Free Students Union Chairperson, Nabina Lama, said the student unions will stage a demonstration of athletes at Naya Baneshwar on Friday, submit a memorandum at the Foreign Ministry for an end to foreign intervention on Saturday; hold a race rally from Maitighar to Naya Baneshwar on Sunday and street debate on Monday.

She argued that the amendment would disintegrate the country and said the agitation was being launched for making Nepal independent and sovereign.

Youth Association Chairman, Rajiv Pahari, warned that the amendment would harm the national integrity of Nepal. He added that the agitation would continue until the amendment bill is withdrawn.

At the program, Nepal Revolutionary Students' Association Chairman, Niroj Lawoju, insisted on withdrawing the amendment bill as it could disrupt the existing harmony in the society. RSS
