KATHMANDU, March 1: There is a possibility of light snowfall at some places of Koshi and Gandaki provinces today. According to the Meteorological Forecasting Division (MFD) under the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology, there is currently a partial influence of westerly winds over Nepal.
According to the meteorological bulletin issued by the MFD earlier at 6 in the morning, the weather is mainly clear in the hilly areas of the country while the remaining areas are partly cloudy.
Heavy rain likely in some parts of the country
Throughout the afternoon, the weather is expected to range from partly cloudy to mostly clear in the hilly regions, including Sudurpaschim, Karnali, and Lumbini provinces. There is a chance of light snowfall at isolated locations in the high hills and mountainous regions of Gandaki and Karnali provinces.
The weather is forecasted to remain partly cloudy to mostly clear in the hilly areas, including Sudurpaschim, Karnali, Lumbini, and Gandaki provinces at night.
Sporadic to light rain is anticipated at one or two places in the hilly regions of Sudurpaschim and Karnali provinces, along with the possibility of light snowfall at a few places in the high hills and mountainous areas of Sudurpaschim and Karnali provinces, as well as in few places in the high hills and mountainous regions of Gandaki Province.
