Sunsari and Sindhupalchowk extend prohibitory orders for another week

DHARAN/ SINDHUPALCHOWK, Aug 23: In view of rising COVID-19 cases, the district administration offices (DAOs) in Sunsari and Sindhupalchowk have extended ongoing prohibitory orders for another week. 


A meeting of the District Covid-19 Crisis Management Centre (DCCMC) in Sunsari held earlier on Sunday decided to extend prohibitory orders for another week, Chief District Officer (CDO) Phanindramani Poudel said. 


Now, prohibitory orders will continue until midnight of August 30.

Assistant Chief District Officer Pokhrel said that prohibitory orders were announced till August 30 to control the spread of coronavirus at the community level, adding that cases of coronavirus infection have increased in recent days.  


With the decision, all services except the essential ones are suspended in Sunsari district.


Meanwhile,  a meeting of DCCMC, Sindhupalchowk also extended the lockdown until midnight of August 30 to control the coronavirus transmission, according to CDO Umesh Kumar Dhakal.


The district enforced a week-long prohibitory order, starting August 18. However, the district has witnessed fewer number of coronavirus cases in recent days as compared to other districts of the country.
