Supreme Court begins hearing on Lokman Singh Karki’s case

KATHMANDU, Dec 22: Supreme Court (SC) has started hearing on the writ petition filed against now suspended Chief Commissioner of the Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) on Thursday.

KATHMANDU, Dec 22: Supreme Court (SC) has started hearing on the writ petition filed against now suspended Chief Commissioner of the Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) on Thursday.


A joint bench of justices Ishwor Khatiwada, Ananda Mohan and Anil Sinha has been assigned to hear the case.

Nepal Bar Association (NBA), an umbrella organization of all the lawyers in Nepal, had sent a letter to Chief Justice Sushila Karki requesting her to postpone the hearing saying that they have a football program today.


BAR General Secretary Khamma Bahadur Khati had informed Chief Justice Karki in writing requesting the postponement of the hearing on the ground that Thursday is BAR day.


SC had a schedule to begin hearing on Karki’s case today.
