KATHMANDU, Feb 13: The District Court, Kaski, has sent Pramod Bhattarai, a Board member of Suryadarshan Cooperative, to jail.
A single bench of Judge Ramchandra Sharma ordered Bhattarai to be sent to jail on Monday.

Bhattarai was arrested on February 8 by Kathmandu Police. He was arrested from Gokarneshwor Municipality in coordination with the Kathmandu Valley Crime Investigation Office. He was produced before the District Court Kaski on February 9.
The number of people arrested for embezzling the money deposited at Suryadarshan Cooperatives has reached five. Earlier, the Cooperative’s Vice President Kailash Kumar Darlami, Treasurer Kumar Ramtel, and members Shiv Bahadur Gurung and Bhagishwar Aryal were arrested. They are currently in judicial custody pending trial.
Police issued arrest warrants for 19 people, including GB Rai, in connection with the Suryadarshan Cooperative fraud case. As many as 15 of them are absconding.
Officials at Suryadarshan embezzled Rs 1.113 billion from the customers, according to the complaints filed by victims.
