Team leaves for India to participate in international championship

KATHMANDU, April 20: A national team of the Japan Goju-Ryo Karate Do Mission Association left here today for India, representing Nepal in the International Karate and Kick-boxing Championship to be held in Patna, India. The 35-member team is led by association's chief instructor KB Rana (Kaji).

KATHMANDU, April 20: A national team of the Japan Goju-Ryo Karate Do Mission Association left here today for India, representing Nepal in the International Karate and Kick-boxing Championship to be held in Patna, India. The 35-member team is led by association's chief instructor KB Rana (Kaji).

The championship will be held on April 22 and 23 at Pataliputra Sports Complex in Patna. President of Nepal-India Friendship Society, Shanta Kumar Sharma, send off the Nepali national team by handing over the national flag at Belahiya. Eight countries including Nepal are taking part in the championship.


Nepal will take part in the competitions under various weight categories and different departments, chief instructor Rana said. Players from Rupandehi, Kaski, Banke, Surkhet and Baglung are in the team. Nepal had won 14 gold medals in the South Asian Championship held in Pune of India in 2017.  RSS
