‘The Man from Kathmandu’ has completed its shooting in Nepal. According to the press a organized by Tricity Pictures on Thursday, the remaining part of the film will be shot in Los Angeles, US. Proafilm will be able to promote Nepali story to the global audience.
He added that local technicians got a chance to learn from international technicians through the film. Uddin said the Nepali cinema industry has made a remarkable leap in its digital journey from ‘Kagbeni’ to ‘The Man from Kathmandu’.

Indian, Pakistani and Hollywood companies have been showing their interest in the distribution of the film. Director Pema Dhondup said he got interested to team up with the crew after watching ‘Kaagbeni’. As a parent of Tibetan refugee grown in Jomsom, he developed the story when he was there.
The film shows the story of mental and physical journey of young boy with extreme Islamic beliefs. ‘The Man From Kathmandu’ is a story after he eliminates his extremist thoughts when he come to Kathmandu. This story is about extremist views and contemporary politics. Director Dhondup said, “This story supports religious unity and speaks against extremism.”
Hollywood actor Josh Manual, Bollywood actor Gulsan Grover, Pakistani actor Hamid shikh, Nepali actors Nir Shah, Aana Sharma, Shisir Bangdel, Karma Shakya, Amir Gautam are playing various roles in the film.
The film is directed by Pema Dhondup, edited by Eric Carkhe and choreographed by Josh Manual. Uddin said the release date has yet to be finalized.
