KATHMANDU, Dec 18: Thirteen individuals were injured when a tipper hit a van near Maithawa in Kohalpur Municipality-3 of Banke district.
The accident occurred on Monday morning when the tipper, bearing the registration number Bhe 1 Ja 747, collided with the van traveling from Kohalpur to Bansgarhi on the East-West highway.
The injured include Sunita Nepali, 31 of Bahrabardia Municipality-7, Ramesh Tharu, 36 of Basgadhi Municipality-4, Prem Chadara, 47 of Lakebesi-4, Surkhet.

Similarly, Anju Chaudhary, 20 of Bahrabardia-9, Gulria, Kamala Kumari Devkot, 39, of Kohalpur-10, Apsara Budhathoki, 31 of Baijnath Rural Municipality-6, and Sapna Pariyar, 20 of Baijnath Rural Municipality-5 were injured.
Similarly, Bishnukala Khatri, 50 of Basgadhi Municipality, Prashant Bista, 20 of Basgadhi Municipality-2, Karan Dadel, 30 of Baijnath Village-6, Tika Kumari DC, 40 of Kohalpur Municipality-5, Pathe Airee, 58 of Baijnath Rural Municipality-3 and the driver, Pradeep BK, 27 resident of Kohalpur-2, were injured.
According to the police, seven of them have returned home after receiving treatment, while the remaining 6 are being treated at the Nepalgunj Medical College Teaching Hospital, Kohalpur.
On the other hand, the police have impounded the tipper and arrested the driver who hit the Tata magic van and further investigation is being conducted, according to the Kohlpur Area Police Office.
