Three arrested with 14 kg of silver jewelry

KATHMANDU, July 8: The Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) of Nepal Police has arrested three individuals in possession of 14.25 kg of silver jewelry.

KATHMANDU, July 8: The Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) of Nepal Police has arrested three individuals in possession of 14.25 kg of silver jewelry.


SP Hobindra Bogati at CIB reported that the arrested individuals are identified as 22-year-old Aman Kumar, 26-year-old Bikikumar Sah and 34-year-old Shrawan Prasad Kanun. They are all Indian nationals residing in Liparnibirta-6 in Parsa. They were involved in selling illegal silver jewelry.

The police discovered the silver jewelry hidden in the trunk of a car bearing the Indian registration number BR 06 U 9053 during a check at the auto workshop of Auto Services Pvt located in Sano Gaucharan, Kathmandu.


The CIB has forwarded the case to the Department of Revenue Investigation for further action against those involved in the illegal storage and sale of silver jewelry.


The arrests were made on July 5, based on information that the suspects were illegally transporting silver jewelry in a car from Lalitpur to Kathmandu for illegal distribution.
