BARA, Dec 20: Three people died and 27 others sustained injuries in a truck-bus collision in Bara.


The accident took place when a passenger bus (Ba 3-001 Kha 2587) en route to Kathmandu from Kakadbhitta and a truck (Na 7 Kha 7300) from the opposite direction collided near number 3 bridge in Amlekhgunj Wednesday morning.

According to Bara Police Spokesperson Dadhiram Neupane, the deceased have been identified as the truck driver Purna Gurung, 28, of Tanahun, bus driver and Hari Shumsher Suwal Thapa, 40, of Hetauda, Makawanpur. One is yet to be identified, he shared. The three breathed their last while undergoing treatment in Hetauda.


Seven critically injured persons were taken to Hetauda and Chitwan Medical College, police said. Other 20 injured persons are being treated at local hospitals, it was informed.
