Three men arrested for alleged extortion

JALESWAR, July 1- Three people have been detained for extorting money from visitors to the Nepal-India border area in Mahottari's Jaleswar Municipality-12. Among the detained are Ravi Thakur, 30, of Jaleswar-12, Prabhas Jha, 29, of Loharpatti Municipality and Hamid Rain, 21.

According to Deputy Superintendent of Police Prakash Bista, the three were arrested by a team of Nainhi Police Post and Armed Police Force Nepal Jaleswar on Thursday evening while they were extorting money at the border. The police recovered IRs 5,800 from them. All three have been kept in custody at the District Police Office for further investigation.
