KATHMANDU, July 3: Three more people have been arrested in connection with the Lalita Niwas land grab scam.
The Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) of Nepal Police arrested the then Ward Secretary Shivji Bhandari, Surveyor Ghaman Kumar Karki and one of the tenants of the Lalita Niwas land Baburam Maharjan.

The arrest comes after police earlier arrested five people including the owner of Bhatbhateni supermarket Meen Bahadur Gurung and former Election Commissioner Sudhir Shah. They are currently in police custody for further investigation.
The CIB is currently investigating them on charges of producing forged government documents to illegally transfer the ownership of the land owned by the government to the name of private individuals.
