Three Youths Arrested for Assaulting Fire Brigade Staff

KAPILVASTU, May 2: Three individuals have been apprehended and are facing charges for assaulting the fire brigade staff of Kapilvastu Municipality and causing damage to the fire engine.

KAPILVASTU, May 2: Three individuals have been apprehended and are facing charges for assaulting the fire brigade staff of Kapilvastu Municipality and causing damage to the fire engine. 


The incident occurred in Maginhawa, Kapilvastu Municipality-8, when the fire brigade responded to a fire that broke out in a cow shed and poultry farm at approximately 8:30 PM.


Deputy Superintendent of Police Min Bahadur Ghale stated that the local youths became agitated after the fire engine ran out of water while extinguishing the fire. They proceeded to assault the driver, Ghanshyam Kurmi, fireman Paltu Yadav, and city policeman Ram Krishna Yadav, as well as vandalize the fire engine.

The suspects involved in the incident are 32-year-old Ram Prasad Kurmi from Kapilvastu Municipality-8, Dohani; 25-year-old Amar Chaudhary, also from Dohani; and 38-year-old Shiv Pujari Kurmi. The fire brigade staff filed a written complaint with the municipality, urging action against the culprits. Based on this complaint, the municipality lodged a formal complaint with the police. All three individuals have been arrested and charged with misconduct.


Furthermore, the police have initiated administrative proceedings and have extended the deadline for the case by an additional five days.
