"Since today is a public holiday, the Supreme Court is closed. So tomorrow morning, I am going to the Supreme Court against the commission's decision," Karki said.

The EC decided to disqualify Dr Toshima Karki from the election arguing that she held a public post as she was elected a member of Nepal Medical Council (NMC).

However, Karki has been of the opinion that there is no fixed salary in the council, she only gets an allowance when she attends the meeting. According to her, since she is an elected member, the position of a member of the Nepal Medical Council is not a position of profit.

Similarly, she wrote a letter on September 13 and asked the commission in writing whether the position of a member of the council is a position of profit or not, and the commission did not give any answer.
