Muskan Khatun was attacked with acid on the way to her schools by two of her schoolmates. She is currently undergoing treatment in Kathmandu.

Minister Bhattarai also praised Khatun for her self-confidence and courage.

Since 2015, Bhattarai has been making contributions to social welfare to mark his birthday instead of throwing parties. In 2015, he had provided financial support to Biraj Adhikari from Manamaiju, Kathmandu, who had lost his father in the devastating earthquake of 2015.

Likewise, in 2016 he had supported Dorje Sherpa- a boy who had to drop out from school due to financial problems. In 2017, he had helped Milan Sherpa, a heart patient from Taplegunj, for his treatment and in 2018, two children from the same district — Ganga BK and Kamal BK — were provided with financial support for their education.

Last year, Minister Bhattari had provided financial support to a visually-impaired couple from Taplegunj for the education of their children.
