2 killed, 5 missing in Dolakha landslide

DOLAKHA, Sept 1: Two persons died and five others have gone missing in a landslide triggered by heavy rainfall at Chyotchyot, Lamabagar-4 in Dolakha district on Wednesday night.

DOLAKHA, Sept 1: Two persons died and five others have gone missing in a landslide triggered by heavy rainfall at Chyotchyot, Lamabagar-4 in Dolakha district on Wednesday night. 



Four houses belonging to the victims were buried in the landslides. The deceased have been identified as Gatule Tamang, 21, and Patmaya Tamang, 20, according to DSP Rabin Karki of District Police Office (DPO). 



The incident site is some 61 kilometer away from the district headquarters, Charikot, along the way to the dam of Upper Tamakoshi Hydro Power project. 



Pat Maya Tamang (40), Satamai Tamang (70), Trisi Tamang (25), Mangale Tamang(45) and a two-year-old minor Kshesang Tamang have been missing since the incident.



Police rescued a local and a Chinese national working in the upper Tamakoshi hydro power project from the incident site. The Chinese, who suffered some injuries, has been airlifted to Kathmandu for treatment.
