POKHARA, Jan 29: In Pokhara Metropolitan City-13, Kahukhola, two individuals, a man and a woman, suffered severe injuries after the man attempted self-immolation and the woman tried to save him. The police rescued them and transported them to the hospital for treatment.
Kaski Police Spokesperson, Police Inspector Subas Timilsena reported that the police rescued two individuals with severe burn injuries. He said that the man had apparently tried to commit self immolation and the woman tried to save the man. He further said that they were rescued while they were still burning and taken to a hospital for treatment.
According to Inspector Timilsena, the man started the fire, and the woman was burned while attempting to extinguish it and save the man. Both individuals belong to separate families, and their identities have been kept confidential by the police for privacy purposes.

The two people who were injured while trying to self-immolate themselves are currently being treated in the emergency room of the Western Regional Hospital. According to one of the hospital doctors, the condition of the woman is critical. The doctor said that about 90 percent of the woman's body was burnt. Only about 25 percent of man’s body has been burnt.
"The condition of the woman is serious, the man is able to speak," said the doctor.
According to Kiran Baral, Chief of Pokhara-13, the man was living as a tenant in the house of the woman who was caught in the fire. “The police are investigating. The injured are being treated," Baral said, "It is understood that the fire was set by spraying petrol.
