Two motorable bridges built over Myagdi River

MYAGDI, April 26: Two motorable bridges have been constructed over the Myagdi River, connecting Baranja and Arman of Mangala Rural Municipality to the road network.


The Road Division Office, Baglung, built the two bridges – one linking Matebagar, Babiyachaur, Ward Number 2 and Pok, Ward Number 5 of Mangala Rural Municipality and the next connecting Phaparkhet, Beni Municipality-4 to Pakher of Mangala Rural Municipality-3.

With the construction of the two bridges, Baranja and Arman, the areas with large geography and settlements in the district, have been linked with roadway via the Beni-Darbang road, said Yam Roka, the ward chairperson of Mangala Rural Municipality-3.


More than 2,500 households in Baranja and Arman of Mangala Rural Municipality have been benefited with the construction of the two bridges, it is said.


The bridge linking Matebagar and Pok is 80 meters long while the one connecting Phaparkhet and Pakher is 117 meters long. Both the bridges are 11 meters wide. Both the bridges have been constructed at a cost of Rs 220 million. The Road Division Office, Baglung, had awarded the contract for construction of the bridges to Lumbini-Prakritik JV.
