Two Nepali players to compete in USA Open Int'l Karate Championship

KATHMANDU, March 25: Two Nepali players are competing in the USA Open International Karate Championship. The championship is scheduled to be held from March 26-31 at Texas, USA.

KATHMANDU, March 25: Two Nepali players are competing in the USA Open International Karate Championship. The championship is scheduled to be held from March 26-31 at Texas, USA. 


Erika Gurung and Biplav Lal Shrestha from Nepal are participating in the championship. Erika is the silver medal winner of the 19th Asian Games organized in China.

Similarly, Biplav had won a gold medal in the 13th Asian Games held in Nepal. Erika is competing towards women's above 68 kg category while Biplav is competing towards men's above 84 kg category. 


Deepak Shrestha and Kushal Shrestha are the coaches. Three-member team except Kushal is leaving for the US on Monday itself. Kushal, however, would leave for the USA on Tuesday. 


Member-Secretary of the National Sports Council, Tanka Lal Ghising, wished the Nepali team for the success and bade them farewell.
